Enrique Iglesias got arrested and is facing two misdemeanor charges. The singer was taken away because of obstruction and driving with a suspended license.
Page Six confirms that the 40-year-old singer has been arrested by Florida Highway Patrol Officials last May 6. He was pulled over while riding his white Cadillac Escalade by driving in a closed express lane. He is now facing two charges because of misdemeanors that happened earlier this year.
According to US Weekly magazine, Iglesias tried to jump to the rear passenger seat while his passenger, Abel Tabuyo, moved in the driver's seat. Iglesias and Tabuyo were both handcuffed and taken into police custody. The singer was charged with driving without license and obstruction without violence. Iglesias and Tabuyo pleaded not guilty for their court hearing that will be on July 10.
It looks like things were a bit rough for the "Hero" singer this year. Enrique was also hospitalized and had to undergo surgery after his hand was split during a concert in Mexico.
Iglesias grabbed the drone that was supposed to take a wide view photo of his concert but accidentally cut his hand. Although he was advised to stop the concert which had thirty minutes more before the finish, he decided to continue with a bloodied bandage around his hand.
The singer went under reconstructive surgery after and had his representative send a message to all that wished him well.
"Thank you to all for your concern and good wishes. Enrique is currently undergoing reconstructive hand surgery today. He will resume his tour July 3rd in Mexico City. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers," the singer's representative said.
The surgery went well but the damage was worse than expected that's why it took the doctors longer to fix his hand. But shortly after that, he was released and just had to take a few days off to recover. Fans expressed their support for the Latino singer by posting pictures of their hands with written well wishes to the singer.
The singer made his first public appearance on June 27 after the drone accident. He stepped back on stage to perform at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma for over 15,000 people in the audience. This was a show for the Air Force reserve and their family members.
In the photos that were posted, Iglesias was in a special brace to support his hand but still made the extra effort to connect to the crowd and fans using his other hand. He stated that he will continue his Sex and Love Tour in Mexico City on July 3.
