Demi Lovato just released her latest single "Cool For The Summer," and she is already teasing her fans for its upcoming music video.

Hollywood Life reported that Demi's edgy new tune "Cool For Summer" launched yesterday, June 30. Although the beat of the song doesn't typically sound like one of her songs, the single is gaining positive reviews. Her new sounds comes after admitting that her next album will be something that "feels right" for her.

"For this album, I'm making music that feels right to me.This time around, I was able to explore different sounds, and hone in on something that I'm really proud of," Demi said.

"I'm inspired by something every day so those experiences will definitely be reflected on my next album," she added.

Although there were many positive reactions with Demi's summer song, there were also some critics. Buzzfeed's article suggests that the "Cool For The Summer" song might be about a same-sex fling. Demi never said anything clear about her sexuality after she became the subject of rumors when Ruby Rose claimed that she had a fling with singer back in 2013, as reported by Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old newest cast member of "Orange Is The New Black" made headlines when she claimed that she slept with the "Skycraper" singer and said that she's the person Demi has slept with "who didn't sell naked photos of her."

"Listen, I'm in no way shocked or offended by the shade I'm getting from people who have simply cropped my reply to what actually started this. However I in no way initiated this, nor did I say something that wasn't already written in the ridiculous post. One sided replies don't cut it. However, love and peace to everyone. It is what is it," Ruby Rose said.

The new single was compared to Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" but a representative from Lovato's team spoke to Buzzfeed and said that the singer is just having fun.

"Demi's just young and having fun. She's in the driver's seat for the first time in her career and she's going to sing about whatever she wants to sing about," said Demi's spokesperson.

Demi is currently in a long-term relationship with former "That 70's Show" actor Wilmer Valderrama. He previously spoke about his experience while working with his girlfriend on the set of "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series."

"She has a very significant part in it, and it was fun," Valderrama said. "It was a blast."
