While major news networks have agreed not to release any exit poll data before polls close, for fear of influencing voters who haven't yet voted, there are plenty of predictions for tonight's election.
First, Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight has a prediction that might seem off-base at first for a well-respected statistician. Silver gives Obama a 91 percent chance to win the Electoral College.
As goes Ohio, so goes the election, is Silver's mantra, and with nearly every poll in Ohio in the last three weeks showing an Obama lead, he says Obama has excellent odds to win.
Silver still thinks the popular vote will be close, but he gives Obama a slight edge there.
On the far right side of the aisle, but with a prediction equally outside the mainstream, is former House Speaker and current lobbyist Newt Gingrich, who said Romney will win with 53 percent of the popular vote and over 300 electoral votes.
Gingrich backed up his claim with, basically nothing. But he's notorious for speaking in grandiose terms (remember the moon base?) and backpedaling later.
For a more down-to-earth prediction, though no less unscientific, we turn to songwriter and liberal icon Bob Dylan, who said Obama would win in a landslide during a performance of "Blowin' In the Wind" at an Obama rally in Madison, Wis.
And the straight average of the national polls from RealClearPolitics gives Obama the slightest of margins, with just a 0.7 percent lead over Romney in the popular vote count.
As for whose predictions will be the most accurate, we'll need to wait until the polls close tonight.
