With the recent airing of the Season 5 finale of the HBO massive TV show, "Game of Thrones," many fans are left with plenty of questions.
Warning! Possible spoilers ahead!
As Season 5 comes to an end, the "death" of Jon Snow slowly starts to sink in but the question remains: is the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch really dead? If you believe actor Kit Harington, who has recently said in an interview that the character is officially dead and he will not be back for Season 6, then he is. However, there has been a rumor going around that Jon Snow is actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. For those who do not know who they are, Rhaegar was the last of the Targaryen kings while Lyanna Stark is Ned Stark's sister who Robert Bratheon loved.
This fact is important because it makes Jon Snow a Targaryen and not a Snow (bastard last name of the Stark family). If that is so, why would the producers kill off the character when the series' author George R.R. Martin said in the past that he has Jon Snow surviving till the end of the series?
According to International Business Times, there may be several important flashbacks that could possibly involve Ned Stark. The "Tower of Joy " story arc could be one important flashback. This part of the story tells the tale of how Ned Stark went to rescue his sister during Robert's rebellion. Although Ned ultimately was not able to save Lyanna she made him keep a secret, which Ned took to his grave. Now the secret that was told that day has yet to be discovered, but many believe it is the answer to who Jon Snow's real parents are.
One character that is to make a reappearance after missing all of Season 5 is Bran Stark, according to Cinema Blend. Bran hasn't been seen since he went into training with the Three-Eyed raven and the children of the forest. He currently does have the power to see into the past using weirwood trees which could explain the lengthy flashbacks.
Further evidence that these flashbacks would be surrounding Ned and Robert is the first casting news for Season 6. The casting is for a trio of boys. One boy is to be big and tall but not fat. While a second boy is to have a northern accent and has brown hair while the third boy is to be younger and have green eyes. Many believe that the first two boys fit the description of Robert Bratheon and Ned Stark respectively.
What is in store for the viewers of "Game of Thrones" Season 6? Is Jon Snow really dead? What will happen to Sansa and Reek? Viewers will just have watch and find out.
