This is the season to have your fill of "Avengers" awesomeness as the saga of the superhero team appears to never end. This is thanks to the news that the third "Avengers" film will be split into two.
Looks like this is becoming a trend, one that appears to be rather cost-efficient and profitable for film studios. Other movie franchise, such as "The Hobbit," "The Hunger Games," and even "Harry Potter" used the same strategy - splitting the final installment into two films.
In the latest update for the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity Wars," reports revealed another villain said to be involved in the two-part film.
"We already know the 'puppet master' antagonist of the franchise, Thanos (Josh Brolin), will be the major player of the two-part 'Avengers: Infinity War' but we also know that these two movies - which we're told will stand on their own as complete pictures - will have other villains as well, some familiar, some new," ScreenRant noted. "One of those new characters might have just been revealed... and might tie-in to Guardians of the Galaxy 2."
The site went on to point out the tidbit that sparked this speculation - the casting auditions.
Information provided by Acting-Auditions revealed that the third installation required "new lead and supporting roles."
"The film is the first in a two-part sequel in which Thanos plays a major role, along with the Magus," the site said. "Adam Warlock's bad side, the Magus, separates from his body and assembles the Infinity Gauntlet."
"Magus creates doppelgangers of Earth's heroes as part of his plan to recreate a universe of evil," it added.
The casting call announcement went on to reveal the involvement of Loki (Tom Hiddleston), which tells us that Thor's troublemaker brother will once again make an appearance and do who knows what, considering his fickle nature and the direction/vision of the filmmakers.
Considering that the upcoming installment will be the stage where events in other "Avengers" films will converge, it is no surprise that Loki, and even more villains, will make an appearance.
Going back to Magus, the comics have portrayed the said villain as an "older, evil version of the comic book hero (Adam Warlock) who comes from the future to try and corrupt his former self and ensure his own creation," CinemaBlend noted.
"While the evil version of Adam Warlock attempts to get the Infinity Gauntlet for himself, he instead winds up being trapped inside the Soul Gem, one of the most powerful Infinity Gems/Stones," the site added.
With that, it appears that producers will have to hire two different actors to play Magus and Adam Warlock. Who do you think would be perfect for these roles?
