Summer makes most of us crave for the juiciest, most luscious, and ridiculously colorful fruits. In here, we'll unleash the secrets of making you enjoy Mother Nature's superfoods more. You'll be amazed that for the longest time you've probably been eating your fruits the wrong way.

Slice, Cut, and Peel Your Fruits the Right Way

It's amazing to know that there are lots of ways to prepare our fruit platters. However, most of us probably have done it wrong.

Bananas

Freeze them. You were asking yourself how bananas were refreshing, right. Well, there you have it. Tasty and ice-cold banana. Also, do the monkey's knack of eating a banana. It must be peeled off from its end, opposite to its stem. This way, you could bid goodbye to messy and beaten bananas.

Oranges

Yes, these are really tasty but peeling them off gives us some sticky mess. There are practically two ways to do this quick and tidy. Cut or pull the top and bottom circles of the orange or tangerine, slash between two sections, and roll it out. Another way to do the job is to lightly cut its middle part, then, pull the bottom off and do the same thing on the other half. Serve and enjoy!

Strawberries

Never wash strawberries when you will just store them in the fridge. Only rinse them when you're about to eat them. Doing this can prolong its life span to around 3-4 days. Another trick is that freshly picked or bought strawberries deserve the best 'hulling' possible. There is an easy way to rip the green off of the top while you also preserve as much of the fruit as you can. You can simply push a straw through it, from the bottom to top. Voila, you can now pop them to your mouth.

To snatch more of these tricks, watch this short video and see how you could do this right, really effortless.

Eat Your Fruits on an Empty Stomach.

Needless to say, popping fruitritious picks is good to our overall health. However, according to studies, eating them on an empty tummy could maximize its benefits in playing its vital role in detoxification and being a good source of multiple vitamins.

This fad suggests that after eating a fruit, we need to wait for 30 minutes before we can eat our meal or any other food. Thus, if we've already eaten a meal, then a time gap of 3 hours is advised before we plop some fruits in our mouth. This will ensure that all the foods we take in are digested before the fruits come in.

Tweak those Baskets of Fruit Myths.

There are some myths like drinking fruit juice, eating fruit bars, and munching some dried or pre-canned fruits can be as good as consuming a whole fruit. The fruity fact is that it is still always best to grab some fresh fruits as these natural foods have lower calorie counts, more fiber, greater amounts of phytonutrients, and loaded with lots of antioxidants.

The fruits' flavonoids and pulps really do the magic of giving us the enough vitamins and minerals that our body needs. Remember that fruit juices and bars may have added sugar, flavor and color enhancers, and other preservatives, which are not really healthy. These fresh picks are always the best.

Another common myth: Some fruits are healthier than the 'others'. The deet is that each fruit has its own health benefits - packed with nutrients and other beneficial compounds. Each variety has its distinct nutritional value that is perfect for your certain needs.

Uh, oh! Go back to your room!

Myth: Fruits are best consumed at bedtime. The real deal is that you snatch some fresh fruits on either mid-morning on a light tummy. This is where your body needs ample amounts of glucose and energy. Thus, eating fruits at bedtime can load you up with more calories as you've already taken your dinner.

Now with all these, you'll surely never look at these summer fruits ever the same again!
