WWE SummerSlam is practically two months away but this early, there are two rumoured cards being planned.
One is a match pitting Seth Rollins vs. Triple H in what could possibly be a match to see who executes the patented “Pedigree” the best and may likely signal the end of Rollins’ alignment with the Authority (if not dissolve the whole faction altogether).
Hearing about a possible Rollins vs. Triple H match is really nothing new. There was word before taht this match could take place but at Wrestlemania 32.
So if this does happen, does this mean Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar is off? Or will the much awaited rematch between Rollins and Lesnar take place at WWE Battleground.
Do recall that Lesnar has already resurfaced and he wants to win back his title.
WWE Battleground will come first and will take place in July 19 while WWE SummerSlam will be held on August 23.
Tying them up with the rumors, Rollins could eventually lose the title at WWE Battleground to Lesnar if it does take place and possibly turn on Triple H thereafter.
Hence, if that is the route to follow, then the rumoured matchup makes sense.
So where does this leave Lesnar?
If he does come out victorious, it could be a rematch between Lesnar and Roman Reigns. The two met at Wrestlemania 31 but the joust was left practically unsettled when Seth Rollins cashed in and won the WWE Heavyweight championship from under their noses.
Rollins curb stomped Reigns and pinned him to become the new WWE Heavyweight champion at that time.
The question is should Lesnar and Reigns collide, will it have the WWE Title on the line? All that could depend if Lesnar does meet Rollins at WWE Battleground and regains his lost title.
At the moment, Reigns is in a storyline involving Bray Wyatt. It will be recalled that Wyatt is trying to get payback on Reigns for depriving him of a chance to compete for the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Wyatt was Reigns last opponent in the gauntlet match set by Triple H and the Authority during a WWE RAW episode which Reigns won.
He reappeared at WWE Money in the Bank and took Reigns out as he was on the verge of getting the coveted briefcase. Sheamus ended up being this year’s Money in the Bank winner.
Reigns did call out Wyatt the night after and the reasons for his actions were revealed. The mind games have started and the two are set to meet head on at WWE Battleground.
If rumors are true that a Reigns vs. Lesnar match is being whipped up for WWE SummerSlam, does it mean that Reigns storyline with Wyatt ends at WWE Battleground?
