Jeb Bush official launched his presidential campaign on Monday, June 15, 2015. He declared his bid for the presidency at Miami Dade's College's Kendall Campus.
New York Times reported that Bush is a son and brother of former American presidents. He depicted himself as the most accomplished leader in the 2016 list of candidates. However, he said that his family name does not give him a special right to the White House.
"Not a one of us deserves the job by right of résumé, party, seniority, family or family narrative. It's nobody's turn. It's everybody's test, and it's wide open," Jeb said.
There's no passing off responsibility when you're a governor, no blending into the legislative crowd or filing an amendment and calling that success. As our whole nation has learned since 2008, executive experience is another term for preparation, and there is no substitute for that," he continued.
Jeb's main statement was that "America deserves better".
Wall Street Journal wrote that Bush revived "Jeb!" the same logo he used for three gubernatorial campaigns. He attempts to focus that he is not running as the next-in-line of a long-standing political dynasty, but as an independent person. Bush must now abide by federal rules that require him to campaign independently of a super PAC and raise funds for his presidential campaign in increments that cap at $2,700.
Bush said that he would aim for 4% annual economic growth which means creating 19 million new jobs. Bush shared that during his two terms as governor, he was able to create jobs, lower taxes and increase productivity. BBC reported that Bush shared how his message will remain optimistic for everyone.
He promised to campaign out of the usual GOP targets. He plans to go to Hispanic neighborhoods, black churches and college grounds. Bush will most likely start to campaign in states that host the earliest nominating contests, based on the same Wall Street Journal report. He also planned to rebuild the United States' friendships and starting by standing with Israel. He further denounced President Barack Obama's overtures against Cuba, based on the same BBC report. During a tour in Europe earlier in June, Bush said that he will not depart from his core beliefs, even though some of these may be unpopular in his Republican party.
Jeb's father, former President George H.W. Bush, and brother, former President George W. Bush, were not at the rally, but his mother, Barbara, was present.
