President Barack Obama continues to dominate the polls among California voters, the latest poll released by Field Poll revealed. The poll, which was released on Saturday, found that Obama holds a 15-point lead against Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Saturday's poll, which interviewed 1,566 likely voters in California, found that 54 percent of likely voters support Obama, while 39 percent support Romney. The poll also revealed that two percent of likely voters support third party candidates and that another five percent remain undecided.

The results released on Saturday show a decline in undecided voters since October 24, from seven percent down to five percent, and a rise in support for each candidate. Support for third party candidates has remained steady at two percent since mid-September.

Field Poll also asked likely voters if their votes for either candidate were made for their candidate or "against his opponent." The poll found that 79 percent of Obama voters were voting for their candidate and that 14 percent were voting "against his opponent." Conversely, 54 percent of Romney voters said they were voting for their candidate and 39 percent said they were voting "against his opponent."

Seven percent of each group had no opinion on the matter, the poll stated.

Obama enjoys the support of California independents (51 percent to 34 percent), as well as Latinos (66 percent to 22 percent), Asian-Americans (58 percent to 25 percent) and African-Americans (89 percent to 5 percent). The poll also found that the Obama/Biden ticket enjoys the support of men (48 percent to 42 percent) and the support of women (58 percent to 35 percent).

According to Field Poll, "Except for voters age 65 or older who are about evenly split, Californians in all other age categories are supporting the Democratic ticket by double-digit margins."

Calculations by RealClearPolitics show that the president has a significant 14-point lead and is expected to take the state during Tuesday's election. Democrats have taken the state in the past two presidential election, with Obama winning by 24 points in 2008 and John Kerry winning by 9.9 points in 2004, RealClearPolitics reported.

The latest Electoral College votes predictions by Latinos Post place California and its 55 electoral votes firmly in Obama's hands.
