WWE Money in the Bank is done and over with and there were hardly any title changes and some matches did turn out as what most predicted.
R-Truth snuck one under King Barrett, using his elusive tactics and win the kick-off match for the evening.
The next match was the Money in the Bank ladder match where the winner will practically put himself close to the top spot by getting a shot at the WWE Heavyweight Title. Roman Reigns was the favorite but so was Sheamus. In the end, it was the Celtic Warrior who won it all, in what may be a push of sorts for the heel wrestler.
In the Divas Championship match, it looks like the WWE is bent on building Nikki Bella to break the longest reign record held by AJ Lee. Nikki came out the victor as well and like before, it was the Twin Magic that made the difference despite Paige throwing it all she has got.
Ryback remains the WWE Intercontinental champion, thanks largely to the Miz. The highly physical and brutal match almost ended with the Big Show pinning Ryback until the Miz appeared and attacked the world’s largest athlete en route to a disqualification.
Since it was the Big Show who the Miz attacked, the win was awarded to the big guy. Unfortunately, the title can only change hands via pinfall or submission so despite the loss, Ryback is still the WWE Intercontinental champion.
Many believed that Cena would not lose twice in a row and that is exactly what happened. In what is being tagged as the best match of the night, Cena defeated Kevin Owens. However, the bad blood between the two seems to be far from over after Owens’ disrespectful attack on Cena.
The WWE has new tag team champions after the Prime Time players (Darren Young and Titus O’ Neil) defeated the New Day tandem of Big E and Xavier Woods. With their third member out with a back battered after the brutal ladder match for the Money in the Bank briefcase, Big E and Woods had to go at it on their own.
In the end, however, it was O’Neil connecting on his signature move (Clash of Titus) on Woods to get the win and the WWE Tag Team titles.
Seth Rollins proved to everyone that he could defend his title without any help but it took a punishing match against Dean Ambrose to do so. In the end, Rollins defied the odds despite the suicidal attacks by Ambrose and claimed what was rightfully his: the WWE Heavyweight Title.
With only one title change, the results of WWE Money in the Bank may have opened further storylines, if not appended current ones as well. Much of them are bound to be cooked up again as the WWE tries to whip up a new storm once more before the next pay-per-view, the WWE Battleground.
