Another Marvel movie will be out soon, which is why there are more "Ant-Man" updates and teasers emerging in the past (and coming) weeks.
Recently, a 16-second clip teasing a 6-minute preview of the upcoming superhero flick was released, ramping up anticipation further.
The said lengthy preview will reportedly be shown during the IMAX screening of "Jurassic World" in the coming weekend, ScreenRant said.
"If the Ant-Man IMAX preview falls in line with similar promotional moves in the past, it's likely that the full 6-minute version will focus largely on an action scene featured early in the film - perhaps one with Rudd's Scott Lang flying aboard an ant, as featured in the teaser," the site speculated. "After all, films like 'The Dark Knight' (and its sequel) achieved great success by essentially lifting the opening sequence and repurposing it as their respective IMAX previews."
Aside from this scenario, it is also possible that the preview will follow a "different sequence altogether."
"Strong candidates could include a flashback footage of a suited-up younger version of Douglas's Hank Pym or even Scott Lang's first time trying out his new alter ego," the cinema news portal went on to speculate.
Whichever scenario you're rooting for, the wait won't be long as "Jurassic World" will be in theaters in less than a week.
Although Ant-Man may seem to be a new superhero to those familiar with the Marvel character, and is diminutive at that, he is no less important in the Marvel Universe as he connects "not only to the present and future of the entire operation at hand; but also filling in some essential blanks in the past," Cinema Blend said.
It can be recalled that Hank Pym, the first Ant-Man, was actually one of the pioneering members of The Avengers, although this was not shown in the current Avengers film franchise.
"However, Marvel seems to be correcting this error with some fancy retcon work in Ant-Man," the site said.
In the upcoming film, the titular character, Scott Lang aka "Ant-Man," is portrayed by Paul Rudd, who managed to let his comedic chops shine at some points in the film, at least based on the trailers that have been released so far (especially the second one). Based on the clips, it appears Marvel has made the right choice in giving Rudd the role, as it had done with Robert Downey Jr.'s casting as "Iron Man."
