Bethesda teased the next downloadable on its Twitter account today, accompanied by news that a full trailer will hit on November 5th.
Rumors have indicated that the DLC potentially gives players the ability to mount dragons at long last. A Bethesda forum user with the alias of Mardoxx dug through Skyrim's game patch 1.8 and analyzed the code. Mardoxx found files containing the word Dragonborn, which lined up with a Bethesda trademark of the very same name back in September. The code also revealed the following game locations: Raven Rock, Telvanni Tower, Miraak Temple, and Castle Karstaag.
Bethesda previously released both the "Dawnguard" and "Hearthfire" DLC packs. Dawnguard immerses players in the eternal war between mankind and the vampire race. A few missions into the expansion, gamers are given a choice to hunt vampires, or become one. If the player chooses vampirism, they unlock the ability to change their form into a "Vampire Lord," which opens up access to various supernatural powers. Other additions include a skill tree for Werewolves, mounted combat, and the introduction of the crossbow weapon.
Hearthfire allows gamers to build their own house and customize it to their liking, a novel addition to the franchise.
Skyrim released on November 11, 2011 to much critical acclaim and became an instant classic among a number of gamers. Currently, the franchise is being adapted to the MMO genre in The Elder Scrolls Online, which is set to launch in 2013.
