Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and other NBA players resorted to Twitter to shout out to Derrick Rose and wish him a good recovery.
"Derrick Rose out for the rest of the playoffs with a Torn ACL/MCL. Praying for you bro. Hope you have a speedy recovery," said Kobe on his Twitter account.
Chicago's star point guard tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and MCL (medial collateral ligament) just before the end of the first NBA Playoffs bout between the Bulls and the 76ers last weekend, a game the Bulls won.
The Bulls point guard had just been lifted from the injured list a couple weeks ago but on Saturday, after the accident occurred, the Bulls were left "Derrick-less", again. This time however, for the rest of the post season unfortunately.
"Prayers up for Derrick Rose and Iman Shumpert! Hope u guys have a speedy recovery," tweeted Kevin Durant and teammate Serge Ibaka followed suit with, "Wishing a good and full recovery to Derrick Rose and @I_Am_Iman."
Kobe's teammate, Pau Gasol, also tweeted the following:
"Sad to see Derrick Rose getting hurt today. I wish him a speedy recovery and lots of strength during this tough time."
Dwayne Wade told the Boston Herald, "I said a prayer for him and his family. You never want to see anyone get injured, especially a player of his caliber. Very unfortunate. You hope he does his best to rehab and gets back to being the D-Rose that everyone loves."
The hopes of many fans to see the Bulls back in a NBA Finals series, after more than a decade, may have suffered a significant blow as a result.
The Bulls' last appearance in a NBA Finals was in 1998, when Michael Jordan's Bulls faced off with Karl Malone's Jazz for the last time.
Game 2 for the Bulls vs. 76ers series takes place tonight, May 1st, 8 p.m. EST.
