Popular TV show "How to Get Away With Murder" left their fans hanging with its season finale. After Oliver, played by Conrad Ricamora, was diagnosed with HIV, avid fans are now speculating what is bound to happen to Oliver and Connor for its Season 2.

Characters Oliver and Connor have become fan favorites on ABC's new drama. After the show revealed that Oliver is positive with HIV, however, many viewers are worried that Connor, played by Jack Falahee, will return to his bad boy days and leave Oliver.

Creator of the hit drama series Pete Nowalk assured the fans that Connor and Oliver will remain intact, citing that the two main characters are very important also noting they have acquired a huge fanbase.

"Oliver and Connor are very important to me and they have a huge fan base. Their relationship will play a big part in Season 2," said Nowalk at a Television Academy panel that took place in Los Angeles, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Connor has a good heart and wants Oliver to be OK. Just watching him feel that distraught and scared at the end with the news that he's positive, Connor needs to figure out what his role is in the relationship now," Nowalk said.

In a report by IB Times, the shocking finale of "How to Get Away With Murder" doesn't mean that the pair won't face any struggle. In fact, the decision to bring in the issue of HIV was something that the writers took seriously. Reports added that the makers even want to work with Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to make the approach more realistic.

"It's our goal to treat that in a way that's real and gives representation to a whole community of people that haven't been on network TV in a while," Nowalk added.

While the twist is something that has kept fans on the edge of their seats, some are in doubt whether the television industry is really ready for a sensitive topic like HIV. HIVplusmag.com reports that some viewers demanded the episode to be rewritten.

"People have demanded it be rewritten.  Some people are really, really heartbroken and sad. People come up to me and tell me all the time, 'Oh! I cried so much when I found out!' Just a lot of sad people, because, I guess, everybody loves Oliver," Ricamora said.

Meanwhile, although ABC announced that they will be renewing the series and therefore fans should expect another season, other details for "How to Get Away With Murder" are still a blur. However, it's a delight to know that Professor Annalise Keating, played by Viola Davis, will also be returning.
