The NBA Finals featuring the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers will kick off this Thursday at the ORACLE Arena in Oakland, California. The big question right now is whether the Klay Thompson will be playing in the opener.
It can be recalled that Thompson suffered a concussion when he took a knee to the head from Trevor Ariza of the Houston Rockets in the series-clinching game 5 of the NBA Western Conference finals. The initial diagnosis was actually an ear laceration but it was later found that Thompson had a concussion.
Thus, Thompson is listed as doubtful and may not be allowed to play until he clears the NBA’s concussion protocol guidelines. But all is not in vain. Thompson is under close a watch after the incident and it looks like Thompson has shown marked improvement.
His father and former Mychal Thompson earlier bared through the Associated Press that his son had vomited a couple of times and they had to drive him home after the 104-90 triumph of the Warriors over the Rockets last Wednesday.
The latest report of Yahoo Sports reveals that Klay is no longer experiencing headaches and is feeling a whole lot better. Apparently the week-long rest came in handy, giving one-half of the Splash Brothers ample time to rest and become ready for game 1.
Warriors G Klay Thompson (concussion) is not having headaches, feels good and expects to play in Game 1 of Finals on Thursday, source said.

Thompson has become one of the breakout stars this season, his fourth season in the NBA. He was drafted 11th in the 2011 NBA Draft and has made a name for himself with his outside sniping alongside with Splash Brother Stephen Curry.
Curiously, there were petty rumors before the 2014-15 season started that the Warriors were planning to include Thompson in a trade involving Kevin Love. That rumor never prospered and proved to be well and good for the Warriors.
Everyone knows that Love eventually decided to hook up with the Cleveland Cavaliers, ironically their opponents for the 2014-15 NBA Finals. Love will unfortunately be unable to play, having suffered a shoulder injury during the first round of the playoffs against the Boston Celtics.
With a full roster going up against a depleted Cavaliers team, the Warriors have a good chance of giving the Lebron James-Cavs a good run for their money.
The franchise started off as the Philadelphia Warriors in 1946 when the NBA was still known as the Basketball Association of America (BAA). They changed their name to the San Francisco Warriors in 1962 and eventually settled as the Golden State Warriors in 1971.
To their credit, the Warriors have pocketed the NBA championship three times before (1947, 1956 and 1975). Can the Warriors cop their fourth NBA win after 40 years?
