Enrique Iglesias is still recovering after his fingers were sliced during his concert in Tijuana, Mexico. The singer injured his fingers after he grabbed a drone used to get shots of the crowd.
According to Fox News Latino, Iglesias had an accident during his recent concert in Mexico. A representative of the singer said that the singer is still recovering. He added that Iglesias' injuries were "semi-treated" after the accident to stop his wounds from bleeding. Although the medics advised him to stop the show, the singer was determined to finish it properly. The Latino singer went on and performed for an additional 30 minutes.
"During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident. He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show," said Iglesias' management team in a statement, according to 6abc.
Some fans from the crowd were able to take pictures of the singer at the Plaza de Toros de Playas stage with blood all over his white shirt. Photos of the 40-year-old while injured were posted on social media.
"He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to L.A. to see a specialist," the statement added.
His show in Tijuana had around 12,000 fans in attendance. It was part of his "Sex and Love World Tour" and according to his official website, Iglesias' next show will be in July in Mexico.
Iglesias recently took home nine trophies for his "Sex and Love" album at the 2015 Latin Billboard Music Awards. The singer has a particularly close relationship with his fans and after winning at the Billboards, he credited his fans for all his success.
"I want to thank my fans for their support and love all these years. Thank you Miami. Thank you Latin America. Thank you Mexico. Thank you world!" said Iglesias during his acceptance speech.
"It has been an incredible night, and I can't help but continue to thank those who have inspired me, supported me, and believed in my crazy vision. To the fans that have grown up with me, I want you all to know that it's a great honor to walk with you; there is still a lot music left to share and we still have a long way to go," he added.
