The movie "Warcraft" is set to launch in theatres in June 2016.

Screen Rant reported that Duncan Jones is directing the fantasy adventure film. The script and screen story were co-written by Jones and Charles Leavitt, based heavily from the 1994 video game "Warcraft: Orcs & Humans" by Blizzard Entertainment. The story will generally revolve around the battle between humans, or the Alliance and orcs, also known as the Horde.

To ensure that longtime players of the game are satisfied with the plot, Jones worked closely with Chris Metzen, Senior VP at Blizzard. According to Metzen, they attempted various takes on the movie but ultimately decided that it should be split equally between the Alliance and Horde or particularly, Lothar versus Durotan.

Jones described "Warcraft" in an IGN report that the film was combination of "The Lord of the Rings" and "Avatar".

Over 1,000 VFX shots were taken while the orc characters in the movie will come to life through motion-capture performances. Oscar winner Bill Westenhofer was on set in Vancouver to function as VFX supervisor, while Jeff White and Jason Smith from ILM focused on motion capture performances. In an interview with Wired, Jones revealed how they worked with motion capture and visual effects. The concept art received a lot of help from Blizzard

"We tried to do a lot of large, in-camera sets so that we had an actual reality that the film was built on top of. Some of the time we had [actors doing motion capture] on location, some of the time we had them on set, sometimes there was green screen," the director shared.

Jones continued, "Motion capture has become very specialized but also still just a tool of filmmaking," Jones says. "We tried to do a lot of large, in-camera sets so that we had an actual reality that the film was built on top of. Some of the time we had [actors doing motion capture] on location, some of the time we had them on set, sometimes there was green screen."

The cast of "Warcraft" were introduced earlier in November 2014 at the BlizzCon gaming convention. IGN.com revealed hat Travis Fimmel will play Anduin Lothar, Dominic Cooper will play King Llane Wrynn, Ben Foster will take on the role of Medivh, Ben Schnetzer will take on the role of Khadgar, Paula Patton will play Garona and Ruth Negga will play Lady Taria. Toby Kebbel will play Durotan of the Horde, Rob Kazinsky will take on the part of Orgrim, Clancy Brown will play Blackhand and Daniel Wu will act as Gul'Dan.
