For a few years now, there are rumors that Cristiano Ronaldo will be returning to Manchester United. According to the rumor mill, United is willing to make as much as $153M bid just to be able to get Ronaldo back in the team.
In a report by Metro UK, Ronaldo is rumored to be making a return to Manchester in between speculations that he is going to be ousted by new Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez. It is believed that Chelsea is the top choice for transfer but Manchester is willing to make a big bid in order to lure back the star player. This bid will probably make Madrid consider since Ronaldo is 30 and is near the end of his career.
Manchester United has a lot of cash to spend during transfers and scouting for new signings. Amid rumors, Latin Post claims that Ronaldo's transfer to Manchester will not happen anytime soon.
The publication notes that Ronaldo wants to be Real Madrid's superstar scorer, and he is not there yet. He has made 313 goals in his Real Madrid career which is 11 goals shy from Raul. If he leaps past that, he will become Real's greatest goal scorer.
The magazine added that Ronaldo is not about to make a transfer and start again without being Madrid's top scorer, which will make him second to Messi. Another point made is that Ronaldo is making at least 50 goals in each of his years in Madrid. Even if there are claims that Madrid's manager, Rafa Benitez, will focus on Gareth Bale to make him the center of Real's attacks, it's not a guarantee that he will score up to 40 goals or at least make it to 30 - something that Ronaldo has already established.
"Sources in Spain even claim that Benitez may be prepared to sell Ronaldo, and not Bale, if he cannot successfully incorporate both players into his Real team," notes Bleacher Report.
In any case, if Madrid feels the need to let go of the football player, Chelsea and Manchester are more than willing to take Ronaldo under their wings. It is also believed that Paris Saint-Germain is amenable to spending to get Ronaldo.
Ronaldo's transfer rumors follow after coach Carlo Ancelotti's dismissal from Madrid. The Italian coach was fired by President Florentino Perez. Ancelotti's wife confirmed that the former Madrid coach will take a break and undergo medical operation to improve his health.
