Google just launched their latest service, Google Drive, allowing users to store almost any type of file unto Google servers.

The purpose of Google Drive is to allow people to store and share files better.

Originally, one would have to attach files onto an email and then forward it to someone else--a friend, colleague or himself even--but with Google Drive, the file would technically stay in place and sharing would basically happen by inviting others to open it.

Google says that this service will not only save users from having to send emails with bulky attachments, but will also help people organize the files they save on their email accounts better, meaning that the days for endlessly searching for an attachment are over.

In addition, it will sync all the files one stores on it throughout various devices so that the same files are made available anywhere--on the web, the office, at home, for example. Just drag and drop.

Google Drive is so far available for PC and Mac and Android devices while iPhone and iPad users will have to wait a bit. It provides 5 GB of free storage space.
