Manny Pacquiao can't help but feel excited, now that the fight that he's been waiting for is only days away from happening.
At a press conference in Las Vegas on April 28, Sporting Life said an even more confident Pacquiao addressed the crowd.
Pacquiao told reporters, "I'm different to the 47 opponents he has fought before. I'm faster than them and I'm content for the fight. I believe this is the moment he will experience his first loss."
He continued, "I can't say Mayweather is the most dangerous opponent of my career because I've fought guys like Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Juan Manuel and Marquez and other boxers. He's a difficult opponent but my confidence is different for this fight. I have no nerves, maybe the people get nerves but I'm excited, this is it."
Pacquiao does not only see the fight as one of the highlights of his career. He added, "At this point it's not personal to win, but personal for boxing fans. We have to prove something to the fans and that's personal for us. This is one of the most important fights for my boxing legacy. I want to make this fight for my boxing legacy. I want to win, that's my goal."
Pacquiao also has a message to all his supporters: "Don't get nervous. I'm excited and 100% confident."
As BBC reported, Pacquiao is not minding if some people doubt if he'll ever win the fight against Mayweather.
"Any time I am underdog, I like that. It means my killer instinct and focus is fully there. Other people are getting nervous for me but I am excited. This is the moment I believe he will experience his first loss," Pacquiao explained.
Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, who was also present when Manny talked with members of the media, said, "We have a very good game plan to win this fight. If a knockout comes, we'll be thrilled."
Roach also revealed how Pacman will penetrate Mayweather's defense on May 2.
"At welterweight, Manny's really not that big a puncher. But his speed will overwhelm Floyd, that's what we're counting on. It will be very difficult for Floyd to win this fight just by running and at some point he will have to exchange. We've been working on throwing flurries of punches - because Floyd doesn't throw on the counter until you're done - before getting out of the pocket real quick," he said.
The MGM Grand in Las Vegas prepared an event for the grand arrival of both fighters, but Pacquiao decided to have his own spectacle at Mandalay Bay Hotel for his adoring fans, based on the same report by BBC.
Pacman told the crowd, "I'm feeling excited and confident. Are you nervous? Don't worry, I'm the one who will be in the ring,"
"I want to win. That's my goal."
