Wednesday's round of UCL matches included a plethora of shockers that have completely altered the nature of the tournament to date.

Ajax 3, Manchester City 1

The Premier League Champs have struggled, but they looked dreadful against Ajax on Wednesday. The day got off to a strong start with a goal in the 22nd minute from Samir Nasri. But the team struggled the rest of the game to generate any creativity, particularly without David Silva. The flood gates opened right before half time as Siem De Jong tied it in the 45th and then Niklas Moisander (57th) and Christian Eriksen (68th) gave Ajax a lead they would never relinquish. The win jeopardizes Man City's chances of even making the Europa League which occurs if the team makes 3rd place in the group. Ajax now trails behind Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in group D with 3 points.

Borussia Dortmund 2, Real Madrid 1

Madrid continued its inability to win in a German stadium as they dropped a 2-1 loss to Borussia. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal, but his team is now in second place of Group D. Borussia meanwhile jumps to firs tpalce with 7 points. Despite history, Jose Mourinho's club was expected to win the match thanks to its loaded roster. They face each other again in the Bernabeau in a few weeks which should clarify which squad will win this group.

Schalke 04 2, Arsenal 0

The British sides had a tough round as Chelsea lost, Man City lost, and Manchester United struggled with Braga (they were down 2-0 at one point) despite winning. However, Arsenal's 2-0 loss at home to the German squads was shocking in how poorly Arsenal looked on the backend. Per Mertesacker saved them a few times throughout the match, but when he fell apart on the first goal, so did the rest of the team. After the Norwich loss on Saturday and this loss, trouble could be brewing in Arsenal.
