The latest trailer of "Batman: Arkham Knight" has been released, featuring a new mechanic.
Dubbed, "Dual Play", the new mechanic allows players to switch between Batman and his allies, based on a report by IGN. The trailer, titled "All Who Follow You", showed Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman fighting enemies as a team.
Other characters were also revealed in the video, such as Scarecrow, Oracle, Two-Face and Azrael. Batman's famous vehicles were also featured in the video, plus other scenes around Gotham City. The trailer hinted that the game's storyline will take on a dark tone. The Verge reported that the "Arkham Knight" appears to be a militarized copy of the Dark Knight, who surfaced in Gotham City and presents a huge threat to everyone, especially Bruce Wayne.
"Batman: Arkham Knight" was given an M-rating by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), which means that there will be violent scenes, mature content and foul language. It was actually the first time that a game in the series was given such a rating, with previous versions garnering a T-rating.
Through its website, ESRB explained why it gave the game such rating, "This is an action-adventure game in which players primarily assume the role of Batman as he battles several villains spreading chaos across Gotham City. Players traverse a variety of locations around Gotham while battling thugs, examining crime scenes, and occasionally rescuing hostages. Players engage in melee-style combat using punches, kicks, and gadgets (e.g., batarangs, explosives). Enemies cry out in pain when struck, and some takedowns are highlighted by brief slow-motion effects and loud impact sounds. Some sequences allow players to use tank-like vehicles with machine gun turrets and rockets to shoot enemies; a vehicle's wheels are also used to torture an enemy in one sequence. Cutscenes depict characters getting shot (on and off camera) while restrained or unarmed. Large bloodstains/pools of blood appear in crime scenes and in the aftermath of violent acts; one room depicts a person torturing a character on a bloody operating table. During the course of the game, players can shoot unarmed characters and a hostage. Neon signs in a red-light district read 'live nude girls' and 'XXX.' The words 'b*tch,' 'gobsh*te,' and 'a*s' appear in the dialogue."
"Batman: Arkham Knight" is set to release on June 23, 2015, on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One, according to IGN. The game will also release on Mac and Linux at a later time.
