President Barack Obama will once again appear on MTV in an effort to appeal to young voters.
He will make an appearance Friday, where he will answer questions from young voters via Facebook, according to representatives at CNN.
"MTV's Ask Obama Live: an MTV Interview with the President marks the first time in this campaign that either President Obama or Governor Romney have focused solely on young voter's top concerns - including jobs, the cost of college, rising student loan debt, social issues like LGBTQ rights, and immigration, to name a few - on a nationally televised program," MTV said in a statement. "MTV has invited Governor Romney to participate in a live, 30 minute special as well, and hopes to also conduct a sit down interview with him in advance of Election Day."
In a survey of 2,000 young voters, a majority of them said Obama will win re-election, according to the Huffington Post. Obama appeared on MTV in 2007, speaking at a town hall and again in 2010.
The United States Census reported a dramatic increase in young voter turnout in 2008. So it's obvious Obama would pander to that demographic. He made an appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last week and will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno later this week.
The interview will air live on MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Hits and MTV Jams, and online and on MTV's mobile apps at 5 p.m. EST, and will be hosted by MTV correspondent Sway Calloway.
Politico says MTV has asked Republican challenger Mitt Romney to participate in a similar interview.
