'The Little Prince' to be a Tearjerker? Release Date, Cast, Plot & Trailer Here!

The upcoming animation film "The Little Prince" has unveiled a second trailer, which is certain to make people break into tears.

No official release date for the United States has been announced but the movie is set to be available in the summer of 2015. The movie will debut in May at Cannes and will launch on July 29, 2015, in France.

"The Little Prince" is directed by Mark Osborne, who also worked on "Kung Fu Panda". To be released by Paramount Pictures (France), the film is based on the famous children's book which Antoine de Saint-Exupery wrote in 1943.

TIME reported that the story is about a young girl (Mackenzie Foy) whose mother (Rachel McAdams) is keen on turning her into a highly successful grownup. The girl forms a relationship with her eccentric neighbor (Jeff Bridges) and discovers the magic that imagination can bring. She also learns about the Little Prince, a boy who falls from an asteroid and gets lost in the desert. The Fox (James Franco) becomes friends with the prince and teaches him about the world of grownups.

Top European indie studio, ON Entertainment, led by Dimitri Rassam and Aton Soumache, featured the second international trailer of "The Little Prince," according to Variety. The $80 million movie is one of France's biggest-budgeted animation films. Wild Bunch is managing international sales and it has already presold the film in all major territories. The first trailer was released during the Christmas 2014 season.

In the second trailer shown on MTV.com, various scenes from the movie were presented, including the parts where the young girl meets her "Aviator" neighbor. The Little Prince's meeting with the Aviator in the desert plus the part where The Little Prince forges a relationship with the fox can also be seen. Scenes of the little girl exploring the wonders of the world around her and telling her neighbor that she is no longer sure if she wants to grow up anymore are also among the highlights of the trailer.

Towards the end of the trailer, the Aviator said the touching line, "Growing up is not the problem, forgetting is."

Rassam told Variety, "Our movie is an homage to one of France's most iconic and revered properties, but also one of its most international, having crossed languages, cultures and generations. There is no better place than the Cannes Film Festival to showcase this unique combination."

Other members of the cast who lent their voice to the movie include Marion Cotillard, Paul Rudd, Bud Cort, Paul Giamatti, Albert Brooks, Ricky Gervais and Benicio Del Toro. Riley Osborne will be playing the role of the Little Prince.
