Ben Stiller, also known as fictional character Derek Zoolander, gladly announced an additional cast to the upcoming movie. He revealed that Penelope Cruz will be one of the stars who will join "Zoolander 2", UPI website reports.
In a recent Instagram post, the "Zoolander" lead actor uploaded a portrait of a young Penelope Cruz with a caption that reads, "Excited to announce Penelope 'Little Penny' Cruz has joined #Zoolander2 cast! #fbf." However, it was not revealed what role Cruz will be playing in the movie.
Apart from Cruz, other cast members were also announced such as Cyrus Arnold. International Business Times revealed that Arnold will be playing Ben Stiller's son, Zoolander Jr. Stiller made the revelation through an Instagram post, which was then shared by Arnold himself. Cyrus Arnold was grateful to be part of the movie and posted that "he was happy to share the news."
It was earlier revealed that the storyline of the second sequel will still be surrounding the fashion industry, linking it to the first movie in 2001. Recalling the last scenes of "Zoolander," Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald left the fashion world to pursue other things such as creating their own program, "The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too", Crossmap wrote.
However, it is speculated that in "Zoolander 2", the duo will pursue modelling again 10 years later. The twist is that they are literally forgotten; thus, they have to reinvent themselves to be known once more. And as to how they will do it, that remains to be seen and movie-goers shall have to wait until "Zoolander 2" hits theaters next year.
There are rumors that Cara Delevigne, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Kristen Wiig, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Jonah Hill will be joining "Zoolander 2," while returning casts will still be Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell who will be playing the role of a fashion mogul Jacobim Mugato, Crossmap added.
"Zoolander 2" is written by Justin Theroux and directed by Ben Stiller. Stiller and Stuart are also producing the movie. Shot in Rome and Italy, the sequel to "Zoolander" is set to release on Feb. 2016.
