Chris Johnson is reportedly set to return to the field after being shot earlier in March 2015.

TMZ wrote that it has only been a month since the New York Jets running back was involved in a drive-by shooting. During the incident, he was hit in the shoulder, although the wound was not deemed serious. Previously, Johnson said that he was assessed by a physician and cleared to be good to play again.

Rotoworld reported that Chris was released from the hospital a day after he was shot on March 8 in Florida. ESPN noted that Chris and Reggie Johnson were passengers in the Jeep drived by his friend, Dreekius Oricko Johnson.

Dreekius was killed while Reggie suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to the report. The running back did not require surgery and continued his recovery at home. Based on reports from the crime scene, CJ2K could have suffered worse injuries. Experts also speculated that the injury should not affect his free agent status.

Meanwhile, the police are currently offering a reward worth $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the shooter, NJ.com said.

The drive-by shooting was Johnson's second incident away from the field in the current offseason. ESPN reported that in January 2015, he was arrested in Orlando and charged after openly carrying a firearm. He was released after filing a bond of $250.

According to insider information cited by TMZ, Johnson is talking to a number of interested NFL teams. There is no news yet whether Johnson is leaning towards a particular team, but he insisted that he will be signed with one soon.

Johnson had been training with NFL insider Jay Glazer before the shooting incident. In a video shared by TMZ, Glazer praised Johnson then said that he was not being targeted specifically. According to Glazer, Johnson was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He advised the running back to minimize the times when he puts himself in dangerous situations and think about his family and career. Glazer also suggested that Johnson should stay away from any bad influences and get rid of people who will interfere with his NFL dreams.

Johnson played for the Tennessee Titans for six seasons before playing one year with the New York Jets. ESPN added in its report that his time in New York was deemed as his worst yet, recording career lows in rushing yards with 663, carries with 155 and rushing touchdowns with one. Based on the same ESPN report, Tennessee released Johnson in April 2014. The Jets signed him for two years for $8 million, but he failed to earn a starting position.
