Aside from LeBron James himself, another player believes that King James should win the NBA MVP award.

An in-house emcee at Quicken Loans Arena recently interviewed J.R. Smith after the Cleveland Cavaliers won against the Detroit Pistons on April 13, 2015, ESPN reported. Smith was asked to comment about LeBron's 39th career triple-double. During the Cavs' 109-97 win, LeBron contributed 21 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.

Smith said, "Who? The real MVP? There's a lot of speculation about who should get the award, but we all know who the real MVP is."

Smith continued, "In actuality, if you really wanted to, you could give it to him every year. I mean, the numbers, what he does for teams. You see one year removed from a team like Miami -- and they probably won't even make the playoffs -- to a team that hasn't made the playoffs since he left and then, all of the sudden, we're a 52-win team. So I don't think you can do that with anybody else that's in our league right now."

He added, "Not to knock anything from the other two guys [Stephen Curry and James Harden]. They're having great years, career years for both of them, but if you want to be realistic about it, you could give it to him every time."

As the NBA playoffs draws closer, there are six candidates who will most likely take home the MVP trophy in 2015: James Harden of the Houston Rockets, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans, Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers, Russell Westbrook of the OKC Thunder and LeBron James, CBS Sports noted. Fans and expert speculate that the award will be given to either Harden or Curry.

Bleacher Report wrote that LeBron had already won four MVP trophies throughout his 11-year career. He currently averages 25 points, seven assists and six rebounds. The outlet added that LeBron helped the Cleveland Cavaliers achieve the second seed in the Eastern Conference. James averages 50 wins every season and managed to transform the Cavs from their early blunders into one of the most formidable teams in the league. Despite James' efforts, however, voters wish to see a new face every few years, which explains why Harden and Curry are on top of the running.

What do you think? Should LeBron take the MVP crown again, or is it time to recognize other talented players in the league?
