Jordan Brand previously introduced the Air Jordan 8 "Aqua" earlier in February as part of their Holiday 2015 Retro lineup.
NiceKicks reported that the Air Jordan 8 "Aqua" is set to release on Black Friday, November 27. It will most likely be available on Nike.com, Flight Shop and select Jordan Brand retail outlets.
The shoe was first recognized for being worn by Michael Jordan during the 1993 All-Star Game. Based on a report by Sneaker Bar Detroit, the model was also re-released in 2007, featuring a black, bright concord and aqua colorway. There were talks that the shoe would be making another return a few years after, but it was only in 2015 that the news became official. Considering how a number of Air Jordan sneakers have been "re-mastered" by the company, featuring high quality materials and fine construction reminiscent of the original, the Jordan 8 "Aqua" will also be given the same treatment.
Based on photos presented by Sneaker News, the Air Jordan 8 "Aqua" features a black durabuck upper, anti-inversion cross straps over the foot, a polycarbonate torsion plate, an inner sleeve and air sole. Sneaker collectors might find some features similar to the Nike Air Huarache.
There is an embossed number "23" on the crossover straps. The straps go through plastic buckles on the ankles, giving the foot superior lockdown. The word "Air Jordan" is embossed on the ankle portion of the straps. On the black tongue, there is a red stitched Jumpman logo against a purple and aqua background. There are also wave-like patterns all over the back region of the shoe. The upper has perforations to provide good ventilation. The shoelaces, sock lining and tongue are black. The shoe's outsole features a combination of tones like red, yellow, purple and aqua and there is another red Jumpman logo on the forefoot area. There are purple and aqua accents on the midsole leading to the back. There are dotted pods on the front and back regions of the outsole, giving players great traction when playing.
Nice Kicks reported that Jordan Brand made an exception by featuring the Air Jordan 8 "Aqua" in the 23rd anniversary of the Air Jordan 7. Sneaker collectors who are avid fans of Michael Jordan's road to glory will find the shoe an ideal addition. The shoe is still good for playing basketball, particularly because of its air sole, crossover straps and durable durabuck upper. The re-mastered version is expected to make it tougher with more attention to detail.
