The 2015 NFL Draft is a month away and the Minnesota Vikings appears to be poised to acquire a number of talents.
The Vikings will have the 11th and 45th overall picks at the 2015 NFL Draft. They are expected to get help at offensive tackle and guard, as well as at linebacker and defensive tackle.
Fansided reported that if Adrian Peterson honors his contract with the Vikings to play three more years, Minnesota will not have to use their No. 11 to acquire running backs Melvin Gordon of Wisconsin or Todd Gurley of Georgia. The Vikings also need a cornerback, so Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes are anticipated to be among their priority picks during the draft. Waynes is one of the top cornerbacks in the 2015 draft and has the frame and speed that will be perfect for the role the Vikings has in store for him. Waynes impressed at the NFL combine, garnering the best 40 time among running backs at 4.31 seconds. Waynes will be good to pair with Rhodes and will boost Minnesota's defense.
Bleacher Report wrote that wide receiver DeVante Parker from Louisville is also among the favorites likely to be drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. At the NFL combine, his official time was 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He looked faster compared to Kevin White of West Virginia. With a height of 6'3", Parker's speed is a good trait that the Vikings should carefully consider.
Wide receiver Amari Cooper of Alabama is also among the players that the Vikings will possibly acquire. Cooper can offer the technical sophistication that the Vikings currently lack. He has good straight-line speed and quickness and will be a good pick if Minnesota opts to move into a pro-ready path.
NFL.com reported that Dorial Green-Beckham and Marcus Peters are set to visit the Vikings. NFL analysts also believed that the two players can be assets to Minnesota. Green-Beckham could be one of the top players in the draft class, if he can stay out of trouble. However, the Vikings might have learned their lesson from Adrian Peterson.
Bleacher Report also wrote that the other players to consider include Vic Beasley from Clemson and La'el Collins from LSU. Beasley might be a unique pick for the Vikings but he might be converted from pass-rusher to off-ball linebacker by coach Mike Zimmer. Collins is the second-best OL prospect. He is tough and is considered better than Charlie Johnson at least.
