Neymar rumors to Barcelona, Real Madrid, and even Manchester United have run rampant. But it seems that the Brazilian star could be most interested in going to Chelsea.
The 21-year old recently confessed an interest in learning English or Spanish, hinting his interest in going to Spain or England. But the rumors find more fire in the fact that Neymar and Chelsea's own Oscar seem to have a tremendous bond. Neymar recently teased a picture of him and Oscar on Instagram.
Oscar has apparently vetted hard on both sides. He has put in good word with the club about Neymar and has apparently sold Chelsea well to his 2012 Olympics teammate.
In many ways, Chelsea could be the best fit for Neymar as the club is relatively young and has enough veteran presence to guide the youngster. Neymar is extremely versatile and can occupy the role of the lone striker, or that of a second forward or even attacking midfielder. Chelsea is currently concocting a top four that includes the youthful trio of Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, and Oscar. Fernando Torres has been the striker at the top of the combination, but at 28 years of age, Torres' time with Chelsea is slowly coming to an end. Mata and Torres have tremendous chemistry, but Neymar would not be signed to sit on the bench. The chemistry that he showed with Oscar at the 2012 Olympics is equally potent. He is the future of this squad and ultimately has more immediate upside than Torres.
If Neymar is brought over and Torres is to sit the bench, at least there would be some valuable experience that the Spaniard could impart on the Brazilian. And that is only the beginning as such players as Frank Lampard could further help the star adjust to the English game. Chelsea is a relatively young team that is already first place in the Premier League. The addition of Neymar could make them the best team in Europe for the next few years as Neymar will eventually compete for the Ballon D'Or.
The next transfer window takes place during January and could see Neymar move to Europe. While many are calling for that to occur, at least one legend is against it.
Pele recently stated that "I disagree that Neymar should leave for Europe now. Last year Neymar's agent spoke to his father, because he had an offer to go to England, When I found out, I went to see them and told them it wasn't the right time to make the leap into English football, because it's very tough and Neymar, who is an excellent player, isn't physically up to it."
