The game "Pro Evolution Soccer 2015" will be dropping its retail price on its current and last generation gaming consoles.

The announcement was made by game developer Konami. The prices will differ depending on the gaming console unit but each will be lower than the usual retail price. GameNGuide reported that on the current generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the game will be sold at $39.99. On latest generation consoles such as the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, the game will be available for only $19.99.

The price drop is a major move for Konami, considering how the European football season is picking up at the moment and the MLS is just about to start. "Pro Evolution Soccer 2015" may be aiming to get more gamers to prefer it over its rival "FIFA 15" by EA.

Game Informer reported that the game has continued to provide updates in terms of players, player likeness, teams, stadium kits, and other elements since its release. The new online mode, myClub, also featured players and managers from the teams in the Champions League knockout round through special agents.

"Pro Evolution Soccer 2015" is still relevant particularly because of the ongoing Champions League. Perhaps more sports titles will also be dropping in prices, since these kinds of games are generally short-lived and have to be launched on an annual basis.

Based on the same GameNGuide report, "Pro Evolution Soccer 2015" is a good alternative to "FIFA 15." For some gamers, the sport is better shown on the field and the plays are more realistic. FIFA may have the advantage in terms of presentation and licensing but the gameplay needs to improve. Moreover, the current price drop by "Pro Evo" may be enough to convince gamers to pick it over the more expensive EA game.

"Pro Evolution Soccer 2015" was given a score of 82 on Metacritic. Overall, Konami adjusted various elements in the game to ensure that passes, shots, and off-the-ball runs are balanced. So far, gamers are satisfied with the on-field action the game offers. The visuals and core gameplay are its best assets. Many players said that "PES 2015" is the best release in the franchise yet. If Konami can manage to have the type of licensing that FIFA has, it might have a chance to overtake its rival.
