Although rumors of a "gay romance" involved Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, the "gay" spotlight appeared to have been thrust on the other One Direction members, namely Liam Payne and Zayn Malik. This after Liam confessed to kissing bandmate Zayn.
In an interview with We Love Pop magazine, the 21-year-old said that the intimate moment began as a dare. However, as is the case with dares of this kind, the situation quickly took on a controversial turn.
"I ended up kissing Zayn once! Zayn was like, 'Come on then, come on,' putting his head close to me," Liam was quoted by MailOnline as saying.
"It was like when you're going to have a fight. Then he just leaned forward and kissed me," he reiterated.
Both Liam and Zayn have girlfriends, with the latter being engaged to Little Mix's Perrie Edwards.
Will there be more dares of a similar nature among the boys in the future?
When asked which of his bandmates he would lock lips with, should the opportunity arise, Harry couldn't pick one out of the four. He also didn't bother to explain why.
Louis, however, took the opposite route and said, "I'd probably snog all the guys, to be honest."
We wonder what Niall Horan's answer would be if he had been asked that same question. It can be recalled that Niall shared a photo of himself with his tongue out on Instagram after Harry apparently asked him for oral sex on social media, the International Business Times said.
"Earlier in March, Styles was also caught grabbing Payne's manhood during a concert," IBT added.
These incidents recall rumors of Harry and his alleged (bi)sexuality. Back in 2013, when asked whether he was bisexual, the British singer sinply said, "Bisexual? Me? I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm not," according to a past MailOnline piece.
Speculations about his sexuality rose again during an interview on "On Demand Entertainment" in November last year.
"Asked the age-old question of what they look for in a girl, Payne answers: 'Female, it's a good trait,'" The Independent noted.
"Styles replies: 'Not that important," the publication went on. "Cue a deadpan stare and a slight smirk from Payne, before Styles list clichés such as 'personality' and 'sense of humour'."
Harry a bisexual? This thought may rile many a Directioner, as the heartthrob has been known to change girlfriends every few months or so. His recent ladylove, Nadine Leopold, had split from the crooner not because she had doubts over his sexuality but because she reportedly was not "safe and secure enough in their relationship," according to Hollywood Life.
"The fashion model just couldn't handle the fact that he was always swarmed by gorgeous women," the site said.
