Fans of action sports game will be excited to know that "Gunsport" will be released later in 2015.

ShackNews interviewed "Gunsport" game director Brandon Sheffield to talk about the details of the game and what players can expect. The game brings players to a dystopian future where conflicts are settled with guns on the volleyball court.

Based on a PlayStation blog, in the world of "Gunsport," humans have lost interest in war and have taken preference for sport and performance to resolve the issues among nations. The game was successfully presented at PlayStation Experience.

Brandon Sheffield shared that when their company, Necrosoft Games, present "Gunsport" to people, they basically describe it as similar to volleyball but with guns. The control scheme is unique, requiring players to use triggers to aim their guns along a two-dimensional plane. They use their guns to hit the ball towards the goal of their opponents. The game is cooperatively competitive and people can enjoy and play it well, regardless of their game console background and skills.

According to Sheffield, "Gunsport" was inspired by the old game "Dogpatch", which was created by Midway in 1978. He also took time to share the rules via ShackNews:

-The Keeper has two shots and can't move. They have a wider aiming range.
-The Striker has one shot but can move and jump. They have a narrower aiming range.
-Every time the ball crosses the net toward you, you reload.
-Every time the ball crosses the net in either direction, it's worth more points.
-If the ball lands on the opposing team's floor or in their goal, you get the point value of the ball, plus whatever the goal bonus it.

The game developers are still working on other aspects of the game, specifically the weapons.

The same PlayStation blog also wrote that the game setting, Neo Tokyo, features a Japan that has been deeply involved in technology but with a great desire to showcase national identity, creativity and master craftsmanship, among others. Every place in the game will present different characteristics. Some of the regions of the future world include Cambodia, People's Republic of Oakland and Neo USSR.

No final characters have been revealed at the moment but Sheffield said that they will as soon as the new demo is available. They are planning to feature five teams with two characters each, so there may be a total of ten. Every team will have their own set of weapons.

Siliconera featured a trailer of "Gunsport" to show gamers how it will be played. It will be playable on Xbox One, PC and PS4.
