When President Barack Obama isn't preparing for debates, handling the economy or dealing in foreign relations, he's taking sides in the very public Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj fight.
Obama called into the Yo! Show in Miami and commented on the infamous American Idol feud.
Host Michael Yo asked Obama if he could repair the Carey/ Minaj relationship.
"I think they are going to be able to sort it out. I'm confident. I'm all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure they're moving forward and not going backward.
Yo asked the President which of the two he favored most.
"Mariah, she's actually done some events for us. I've gotten to know her and Nick. She's a wonderful lady. Nicki I don't know, but I've got her on my iPod."
Obama is referring to the leaked video of Minaj raging on the set of American Idol auditions at Mariah Carey.
"And if you've got a [expletive] problem, handle it. I told them I'm not [expletive] putting up with your [expletive] highness over there," Minaj said in the video to Carey.
"Oh why, why do I have a three year old sitting around me?" Carey responded.
"I'm not sitting here for 20 minutes and have you run down your resume every day," Minaj shot back.
"I can't see my kids, because you decided to act like a little crazy [expletive] and go all around the stage," Carey said.
Obama isn't the only famous person weighing in. The fight has led to celebrities taking sides. Singer and former Idol coach Stevie Nicks chimed in last week with a rather controversial statement.
"How dare this little girl! ... If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there," Nicks said. "I would have killed her in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it."
Both Cee Lo and Jennifer Hudson said they thought the feud was fake and an attempt to gain viewers.
