Demi Lovato has been sober for three years now. And this great news was all over social media because of a recent post made by Lovato's boyfriend, Wilmer Valderama.
In Valderama's Instagram post, he captioned a photo of a tree against a red sky saying "Today, we lay another stone together. It is now 3 years since you said: I am more important than any past, demon, disorder or addiction where you decided that YOUR life was worth living while loving yourself. And I'm sure glad you did."
Three years ago, the Disney star made headlines after it was known that she was battling multiple issues resulting to an admission to a rehab facility. Dealing with certain disorders such as bulimia, cutting, bipolar disorder and addiction are a few that Lovato has to overcome for years, ET Online reported.
Her first rehab admission was in 2010 and she almost went to rehab again for eating order issues in 2013.
Luckily for Demi, she was able to endure all of those problems with the help of her long-time boyfriend on her side.
She posted on Twitter, saying, "3 years sober next month... Hell yeah!!! God is so good. My best friend created the universe and still takes time to love me. #soblessed"
Unfortunately on her process of change, she needs to let go some people who have become close to her since her childhood years.
In recent video interviews with Entertainment Online, she reveals she has cut ties with bff's such as Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez for reasons she can't detail. She explained that "people just grew apart" and that she's still happy for the development of her former best friends.
Currently, it's obvious that she's quite busy with her schedule. She got a hosting/"The X Factor" judge job, a singing career, some producing gigs and a few businesses she owns.
During an interview with Demi, she mentioned that she wanted to "build an empire" and that she doesn't want to be just a singer but also a business entrepreneur. As of the moment, she owns a beauty collection and a line of vibrant hair extensions making herself as the personal endorser, which explains her current hairdo and colors.
