After a dramatic trial of Jodi Arias which gained popularity across the United States and probably worldwide, she is making headlines again. Even behind bars, Arias never failed to amaze her audience, whether be a supporter or not. One thing is certain; one person who is and will never be her supporter is Joe Arpaio, the county sheriff of the Maricopa County.
Just days ago Arpaio banned 10 regular visitors of Arias because of violations that were strictly prohibited inside the cell, Pheonix New Times reported. High profile inmates are not treated the same with regular inmates.
With Arias, visitors are only allowed to communicate with her through video chatting because of underlying circumstances. However, it was reported that Jodi was still able to video conference with 27 of her supporters, including some minors, despite strict policies imposed by court.
Just days ago, jail officials caught Arias instructing two young women to provide fake identification cards so that they will be able to visit the former with no restrictions in the future.
Because of the said incident, Arpaio immediately informed the parents of the young women and was now prohibited to contact Jodi. Additionally, more visitors will allegedly be banned from visiting Arias according to the sheriff himself.
In additon, Arias' fans seem to be instrumental in maintaining a Twitter account she has. "Arias used to use Twitter through a third party who would write the tweets for her, and would promote a website her supporters use to sell her art," wrote Matthew Hendley of Phoenix New Times.
The sheriff, together with jail intels, reported that activities such as video screenshots using smartphones are not allowed and strcitly prohibited. Thus posting photographs of Arias on social media should not be tolerated at any circumstances.
Jodi Arias was convicted of a first degree murder for killing her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander. The trial became popular because of allegations displaying psychopathic tendencies and activities while she's still under investigation, making her the one of the most hated woman in the United States.
Her widespread popularity does not limit to the four corners of the trial room but has extended to social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, notes ABC News.
For now, Arpaio has been keeping an eye on the high profile inmate watching her every move to prevent any mishaps that will take place in the future.
The sheriff's strict policy has gained admirations from most people but will it still be the same when Jodi Arias will be taken into state prison custody?
