Jadeveon Clowney is back in the hospital after being bitten by a teammate's dog.

The Houston Texans linebacker was brought to the emergency room in Pearland, Texas after he was beaten by the dog of D.J. Swearinger, a pit bull, based on a report by DailyCaller.

The Pearland Police Department investigated the incident after they were contacted by the emergency room, because hospital protocol required them to report animal bites. The call was made at 1:44 a.m.

CBS Houston reported that Clowney's skin on his right arm was pierced, but a member of the Pearland Police Department described the wound as a minor bite. The injury is not serious, but Clowney was sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure. There was no further medical information on the linebacker in the report.

Upon further investigation, CBS Houston cited that the dog's vaccinations were updated and good until early April 2015, so Clowney does not have to worry about bite-related diseases that might develop later on. The pit bull was given a standard home quarantine, which was required by the city in any animal bite case. Swearinger and his brother agreed to the stipulations of the quarantine, based on a TMZ report.

Swearinger tweeted about the incident on March 11, "For the record.....my dog and Clowney were just playing and it wasn't a serious bite..they were only playing....cool out on all that. #thanks".

Lieutenant Patrick Savage said in a SportsRadio 610 report, "Animal control handled it as a standard call. Standard procedures were followed by our humane department and the animal control officer who went out there."

Clowney has been plagued by injuries during his rookie year with the Texans. He underwent knee surgery after the injury had to force him to end his first season early.

General manager Rick Smith provided an update on Clowney's recovery in February, based on the same report by CBS Houston.

Smith said, "That training camp, first game of the season is within the normal context of what the time element for what we would expect from his recovery and he's doing well."

He added, "The recovery process is an arduous process. We talk to him about that and how he would have to be diligent throughout that process. He's doing well and we expect that he would hopefully make a full recovery and be able to help us next year."

Smith shared that he thinks Clowney will make an impact on the team in 2015.
