Laila Ali, daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, claimed that even UFC women's champ Ronda Rousey could not knock her out.
TMZ Sports reported that the younger Ali said that there is no woman alive who can beat her in a fight, including the undefeated Rousey.
The 37-year-old female boxing champ was also unbeaten during her career, garnering a 24-0 record.
TMZ asked what she thought would happen if she ever met Ronda Rousey in the ring.
Initially, Laila was playing safe with her answer, saying that it is difficult to compare boxing with mixed martial arts.
"That's like a question I'm not even gonna answer," Ali said. "Because, for one, I'm not a UFC fighter. She's not a boxer."
In the end, however, she declared as she got in her vehicle, "And no woman can beat me, period."
Laila, who stands 5'10" added that she had the advantage in terms of size against Rousey, 5'7". Laila said, "Of course not. She's like the size of my daughter ... my 3-year-old."
Bleacher Report wrote that Laila clarified her statements on March 9 via her Twitter account @TheRealLailaAli.
Laila tweeted, "Let's b clear...I'm retired & not interested in fighting anyone. When asked questions, I just answer them honestly. Everybody stay relaxed!"
She also tweeted, "@TMZ always looking for a story. You ask me about a woman beating me, answer always the same. What they expect. Lol!"
Laila stated about Rousey, "@RondaRousey is doing her thing in MMA/UFC. I like seeing females dominate! All the best to her."
"I'm retired. Not interested in fighting her. I was simple saying, with humor, she's in a different weight class," Ali wrote.
Basically, it would be difficult to put Ali and Rousey in the same division. Rousey weighs around 135 pounds and is listed anywhere between 5'4" to 5'7" in various meets.
Daily Mail reported that the former three-time World title holder is currently the new corner analyst of "Premier Boxing Champions" on NBC. She debuted as a corner analyst at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, featuring Keith Thurman versus Robert Guerrero and Adrian Broner versus John Molina Jr.
Muhammad Ali forwarded his congratulations to his daughter in her new career. He tweeted, "So proud of my baby girl. 1st female boxing analyst with NBC Premier Boxing Champions. #AliTweet."
Rousey has yet to respond to Ali's statements personally or through the social media site.
