The next installment of the James Bond franchise is set to be released in 2015, dubbed "Spectre", and will showcase a number of old and new faces, particularly Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx.
ScreenRant reported that the former WWE Superstar took on the role of a villainous henchman, which is quite different from his previous brawny film characters, such as Drax the Destroyer in "Guardians of the Galaxy". Mr. Hinx is part of an evil organization that James Bond, played by Daniel Craig, is going to investigate.
Bautista, also known as "Batista" in the WWE, described his character as "badass" and "intelligent."
Batista shared during an interview with Empire, "When I came over to meet Sam [Mendes], I only asked two questions. I asked him if Mr. Hinx was a badass. He said, 'Yes, he's a badass.' I said, 'Well, is Mr. Hinx intelligent?' He said, 'Very.' That's what I liked about Mr. Hinx. He's very well-dressed and very well-mannered. I'm not just here to fight people. He has a sense of humour. He definitely knows what a metaphor is."
Yahoo! reported that Mr. Hinx will sport a thick goatee and wears a newsboy-style cap and coat in one of the movie scenes. Reportedly, Bautista moved down to 265 pounds to take on his new role. An image featured him inside a vehicle looking back and pointing a gun at an unknown character. He will go after James Bond to the Austrian Alps in an attempt to kidnap Dr. Madeleine Swann, played by Lea Seydoux. The other "Bond Girl" in "Spectre" will be played by Monica Bellucci.
Cinema Blend revealed that Mr. Hinx will be secondary to the main villain in "Spectre". Although there is no confirmation yet, there are hints that Oscar winner Cristoph Waltz might have taken on the role. Waltz has established himself as an ideal witty and eloquent villain in his previous films such as "Django Unchained" and "Inglorious Basterds" and will most likely be the perfect fit for the top evil that Agent 007 will face, named Oberhauser.
"Spectre" is set to launch on November 6, 2015. Director Sam Mendes said that the film will be entirely driven by Bond.
Mendes shared in a Mirror report, "The reasons I'm doing the second Bond movie are the reasons I would do any movie, really, which is all to do with the story."
Mendes added, "And you're going to have to come to see the movie to find out whether he does."
