The viral video of Ohio State University's Marching Band has led to the promotion of the band's director to a full time position.
The Canton Repository reports that Jonathan Waters will succeed Jon Woods, who retired last year after serving 25 years as director.
The promotion comes after the phenomenal video of the band replicating various video games. During the halftime show during the football game against Nebraska, the band paid homage to iconic games such as Space Invaders, Pokémon, Mario, Pac-Man, Halo, Tetris and Zelda.
About 6 minutes into the video, the band forms an actual walking horse. All this done in perfect synchronization.
The video of the 9-minute show is up to 9.2 million views on YouTube.
The band is known for its amazing shows.
During its Sept. 15 game against California, the band's theme was the space-inspired "To Boldly Go." The highpoints of the show was the space shuttle formation and take off; the Lunar Module landing with a flag and an appearance by astronaut John Glenn.

Canton says Waters is a 2000 graduate of Ohio State where he was a four-year member of the band.
