Amazon is making a name for itself in streaming television, and it just greenlit five new original series set to premiere later in the year and in early 2016 on Prime Instant Video.

Take a look at the shows in store for next season:

The Man In The High Castle - based on Philip K. Dick's alternative history novel, the series is the most watched pilot since its inception for its quality writing by "X-files" scribe Frank Spotnitz, as noted by website Arstechnica. It centers in a world where the Axis won the second world war, and where America is divided among its members. The show, produced by Ridley Scott, takes place 20 years after the war ended, with tensions between Japan and Germany mounting, and with America at its boiling point.

Mad Dogs - based on the UK series created by Cris Cole, Variety notes that this show follows the reunion of a group of 40-year-old underachieving friends who are each at the crossroads in their lives, this co-production with Sony Pictures stars Steve Zahn, Billy Zane, Romany Malco, Michael Imperioli, and Ben Chaplin.

The New Yorker Presents - the first docu-series from Amazon, according to Deadline, revolves around the story of how the magazine was brought to life. It features a short film starring Alan Cumming and Brett Gelman, a documentary by Jonathan Demme, and an interview with performance artist Marina Abramovic.

There will also be two shows for children, "Just Like Magic" for the 6-11 age bracket, and "The Stinky & Dirty Show," which is for preschoolers.

Just Add Magic - a single camera live-action show based on Cindy Callaghan's YA book centers around Kelly Quinn and her best friends, who stumble upon a mysterious cookbook from her grandmother which includes magical recipes. The series will star Olivia Sanabia, Abby Donnelly, Aubrey Miller, and Judah Bellamy.

The Stinky & Dirty Show - the only animated series is based on the "I Stink!" books series by Kate & Jim McMullan. According to the website Uproxx, the animation is brought to screen by Brown Bag Films.

According to Reality TV World, the greenlighted shows were based partly on customer feedback. The website noted that so far, customers have already helped Amazon greenlight 13 shows, including "Transparent," which already won multiple Golden Globe awards and will be returning for a second season this year.

Amazon Studios Vice President Roy Price said, "During the latest pilot season, Amazon customers made 'The Man in the High Castle' our most-watched pilot ever. These new series, including our first docu-series, are some of our most ambitious to date and I'm looking forward to their premieres in the future."
