A character in the previous "Man of Steel" movie is set to appear in the much-awaited "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie. According to the International Business Times, this character is Major Carrie Farris, a role being played by Christina Wren.
Wren revealed how she got the role in an exclusive interview with Pittsburgh magazine. She said that it started with her "Athenos hummus" commercial. She said that director Zack Snyder was able to see that commercial. The director then asked somebody to track her down to try her for a role.
"I didn't know what I was auditioning for; it was called 'Untitled Warner Bros. Project'...They got back to me a few days later and asked if I would audition for a part as a military officer.
"I was trying to figure out - is this a sci-fi? Is this a military movie?...'Am I allowed to know what the movie is?'
"And they said, 'You can't tell anybody - but it's the new 'Superman' movie'," she was quoted as saying by Pittsburgh magazine.
Wren also said in the interview that she was already done filming. She said that most of them were done in August and some were done in September. She also said that she could not tell a lot about the movie but she assured fans that the film will be "badass." She said that she loved working with everybody as it was an "awesome team" on a "fantastic set."
The actress also shed some light on her role after rumors came out that she has a major role in the movie. Wren stressed that her role is military officer Carrie Farris. Note that there is also another comic character named Carrol Farris who is known to be Green Lantern's girlfriend and who turns into the superhero Star Sapphire.
Wren says she just got lucky for getting the role. "I don't think I ever would've been cast in that role if it was going through a traditional process...No agent would've said a 5-foot-1 girl who looks fairly young would be perfect for this military role...It's such a well-oiled machine. I got lucky and slipped through those cracks in a fun way," to quote her.
Aside from Wren, another "Man of Steel" character returning in the "Batman vs Superman" movie is Henry Cavill, who plays the lead role Superman. Meanwhile, Ben Affleck would be Batman.
Other actors included in the cast list are Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Holly Hunter, Jason Momoa, Jeremy Irons, Jesse Eisenberg, Laurence Fishburne, and Ray Fisher. "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa is said to play the role of Arthur Curry and Aquaman while "Social Network" actor Jesse Eisenberg is said to be Lex Luthor.
"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" is written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer. It is set to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
