Is it true Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are naming their baby daughter Violet?

Recent reports have it that the answer is no, which is actually a good move if the couple wants their bundle of joy's name to be unique. After all, Jennifer Garner has aleady beat them to that name option with her firstborn, as far as celebrity baby names are concerned.

So, what name did the Hollywood parents pick for their little one?

According to E! News, it's James.

"if that sounds like a boy's name, remember-her mom is named Blake," the entertainment news source pointed out. "Jaime King used to go by James, not to mention Ryan is an increasingly popular girls' name. So really, most names are equal opportunity appellations these days-anything goes!"

This explanation sounds logical, considering that the baby's parents may want their child to share the same experience in having a non-gender specific name.

Ryan recently dismissed rumors that the couple have named their daughter Violet.

"No, that's not the name. I don't want to get into that but I don't know where that came from," the actor said to USA Today.

He also opened up about his experience being a new dad, part of it being feeling tired and sleep-deprived.

"It's still so new that it's hard to conceive being away for more than seven hours at a time," he revealed. "I had to go to Sundance this last week. I was more excited to get a good night's sleep. It was borderline pornographic for me."

MailOnline also noted him talking about his child with Blake, who is named after her grandmother's brother.

"I used to say to [Blake], 'I would take a bullet for you. I could never love anything as much as I love you.' I would say that to my wife," he confessed during an appearance at the "Late Show with David Letterman."

"And the second I looked in that baby's eyes, I knew in that exact moment that if we were ever under attack, I would use my wife as a human shield to protect that baby," he went on to say.

We're assuming Blake would not be against that. After all, it's their baby he's talking about.

When asked about his little one's name, this is how he responded:

"We definitely [have a name]. I threw out the idea of just never naming the kid to be totally original, but we have a name. I just don't want to say it in, like, a media context. I tell everyone who I meet, so it'll come out," he explained.
