Although talks previously circulated that Brock Lesnar might make a comeback to the Octagon, WWE is confident that their current World Heavyweight Champion is not going anywhere.
Earlier in January 2015, WhatCulture reported that Brock's return to UFC is imminent, especially now that he has completely recovered from diverticulitis, is losing weight, and is showing hints through Paul Heyman. In 2014, three UFC fighters namely Alistair Overeem, Shane Carwin, and Frank Mir called him out.
Inquisitr, however, reported that WWE is very confident that they can get Brock to re-sign. Reportedly, Lesnar has fully overcome his struggle with diverticulitis and said that he is healthier than ever and in the best shape of his life. Also, Lesnar is said to be pleased with his current situation with WWE. His schedules and treatments have been very favorable and the organization has not given him any reason to transfer back to UFC.
Based on the same Inquisitr report, should Lesnar decide to leave for UFC, it will be WWE's fault. Apparently, Lesnar wants to keep wrestling but he either wishes to keep his current deal or upgrade it. If he does not re-sign, WWE might have given a less attractive offer at the last minute. In terms of a WWE deal, more concern is placed on the length of the contract and not on how much to pay Brock.
Brock is currently waiting for his next challenger at WrestleMania 31. Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns will battle at Fast Lane to determine who will face Lesnar for the World Heavyweight belt at WWE's biggest event. Bleacher Report wrote that Lesnar remains as one of the most highly anticipated stars in WWE. His hulking size and tremendous strength made him one of the most formidable wrestlers in the industry, having defeated legends like The Undertaker and John Cena in the process.
Now, he is being depicted by Paul Heyman as a prizefighter, which means that he will work for whoever gives him the best deal. It can also mean that he will go for whichever organization may offer him the most attractive contract. Bleacher Report also wrote that should Reigns move on to challenge Lesnar at WrestleMania, the organization and fans should decide which wrestler is truly worth their investment.
Lesnar's WWE contract will expire after WrestleMania 31. He might look for a long term contract with all its security or ask for a shorter one so he can keep his options open on whether to return to the Octagon or not.
