Valentine's Day is this weekend already, but some men are still without a date. A number of them figured in a recent Ford clip, which shows them going out with a gorgeous blonde who happened to be a professional stunt driver. But they didn't know that last part. Well, at least not until they headed home.
"Car maker Ford recruited a professional female driver to take several unsuspecting men on blind dates at a coffee shop in Dallas, Texas, and offer them a lift home in her 2015 Mustang GT," MailOnline said. "Secretly filmed footage show her playing a 'dumb blonde' before getting out into an empty parking lot and showing what she can do."
"After chatting at a cafe, the couple take off in a new 2015 Ford Mustang and the woman lets the men know that she's not very experienced at driving a manual transmission," Mashable said. "Then, right when the first date banter reaches peak boredom, the driver dips off into an empty parking lot to take the dates for an unexpected thrill ride."
For some men, this kind of date could very well be the best first date ever. Some, however, might find it an emasculating/humiliating experience.
The video begins with Ford showing how they prepared the red Mustang and the parking lot where the driving prank would take place. They fitted a number of small cams in the vehicle, as well as the cafe where the woman and her dates first meet.
Past the 30-second mark, the clip shows the actual meet ups with about 5 different men, getting into the usual dating chit-chat.
Then, the video segues into the scenes that show the woman and her dates getting in the car and taking the road. She had warned that she's not very sure about driving with a stick shift. One commented that the car was "awesome," while another said if she'll let him drive the car, he can "show you what this thing can do."
But when the woman turned the car into the parking lot, "a look of deep concentration suddenly washes over her," MailOnline observed. "The men are lost for words as they're flung back in their seats at speeds of up to 120mph."
The woman proceeded to make high-speed turns, slides, and spins, just like the ones you see in action movies.
"Oh yeah baby. That's what I'm talking about!" one of her dates yelled.
"So I guess you're showing me how to drive this thing aren't ya," said another once the ride was over.
One of the men was caught on camera wiping what appeared to be sweat from his forehead at one point during her exhibition drive.
At the end of the ride, the woman then confesses she's a professional stunt driver and explained that the whole thing was arranged by Ford. The men then proceeded to laugh off the whole episode.
