The latest swimsuit models of Sports Illustrated show how they can still sizzle despite wearing dorky clothes.
TMZ reported that the covergirl of SI's Swimsuit Edition Hannah Davis and models Chrissy Teigen and Nina Agdal get "fugly" in a photoshoot. In the video, Davis explained that they shot two sets, the first set featured them in traditional sexy swimwear while the second set presented them wearing the unflattering garments. All these were made for their DirecTV commercials.
In the "fugly" shoot, Davis was a cat lady while Teigen wore the infamous Mom Jeans.
Teigen explained, "So we get to play characters which is nice for us to be able to do. So we have our sexy selves and what we're gonna be in 10 years."
In the photos, the ladies stripped down in their bikinis for the first set of the photoshoot. They were posing on a couch showing off their toned slender figures and perfectly styled hair. The next scene featured Teigen in a kitchen washing dishes in a floral blouse and baggy Mom Jeans. She had her hair curled and was bending over the dishwasher. The following scene featured Davis as a cat lady in a living room, spending time with her furry friends. She had a big sweater and eyeglasses on.
In another TMZ report, Nina Agdal was also featured in her "fugly" self as a lunch lady. She was shown wearing a dirty apron smoking a cigarette with a giant pot of lunch mess in front of her.
The DirecTV ad showed the three ladies in their pink bikinis at an outdoor lounge with the ocean behind them and a flat screen TV positioned in front of the couches. The ad stated, "Don't be like that other Hannah, Chrissy and Nina. Get rid of cable and upgrade to DirecTV."
Each Sports Illustrated model in their unflattering clothes was placed in the ad stating that they have cable. When they were featured in their spectacular swimsuit-wearing selves, they were introduced as having DirecTV.
Sports Illustrated reported that Hannah Davis is the official covergirl of the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Adage reported that DirecTV came up with the funny print ads beginning with actor Rob Lowe. Previously, the New York-based agency featured Lowe with a hairy back and creepy personality. According to DirecTV senior VP-marketing, they have run ads in the annual SI Swimsuit Issue for the past nine years. In 2015, DirecTV purchased seven ad pages.
