Jennifer Lawrence's nude photo is making headlines once more, but not for a hack attack, and instead for a photo shoot she did for Vanity Fair featuring her bare body and a snake, International Business Times reported.
The "Hunger Games" star, as well as many other celebrities such as Kate Upton, Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice, faced a difficult time last year when they all fell victim to a hacker who leaked their nude photos online. However, Lawrence is not letting that stop her, as she decided to go nude once more, but this time for Vanity Fair's March 2015 issue.
The photo, taken last July at a private residence in Hollywood Hills, showed the 24-year-old naked and lying on her stomach, all the while keeping relevant body parts hidden away thanks to a giant Colombian red-tailed boa constrictor draped artfully over her body.
It was photographer Patrick Demarchelier's way of paying homage to Nastassja Kinski and her famous 1981 Richard Avedon Vogue portrait. In fact, the original Avedon portrait was sold at an auction last year for $95,562, according to News.
"When it came time for the snake to take his star turn, there was frightfully little between him and Jennifer Lawrence - only a long metal rod with a hook at the end," shared West Coast editor Krista Smith.
She also added that Lawrence was "very brave and nonchalant" about having a serpent wrap itself around her and just "cooly focused" on the camera and her shoot. She was only nervous when the reptile strayed a bit too close to her neck.
A serpent wasn't the only animal Lawrence posed with, as a photo also showed her immersed in a pool with a sulphur-crested cockatoo on her hand. Other pictures showed her in a blue swimsuit, a dress and posing by a pool.
Jessica Diehl, who styled Lawrence as was also the fashion and style director for Vogue, shared that they chose Lawrence for the shoot because she has "the perfect combination of strength, sexuality and humor, and, above all, tomboy to pull this off."
Not to mention brave, especially after the hack attack and her leaked nudes.
During a previous interview with Vanity Fair after the leak happened, Lawrence stated, "I was so afraid. I didn't know how this would affect my career."
"Just because I'm a public figure, just because I'm an actress, does not mean that I asked for this," she added. "It's my body, and it should be my choice."
Lawrence's Vanity Fair issue will be released in stands soon, and it will also feature a number of stars, such as British actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones and David Oyelowo, according to TravelersToday.
