Sources have confirmed that Bruce Jenner is finally breaking his silence about his plans to transition into a woman and will open up about it with an exclusive interview with ABC News journalist Diane Sawyer, Page Six reported.
An ABC insider confirmed the news to Page Six on Monday, sharing that the portions of the interview are already set to begin filming this week, with the complete piece slated for an air date sometime in May.
Jenner's tell-all expose with Sawyer follows reports that have been appearing claiming the reality star was planning to film a television docuseries for E! which chronicles his experiences and transition into a woman.
A source even spoke to Radar claiming that Jenner has already been living as a woman behind closed doors and has already decided to undergo gender reassignment surgery in the next several months, details of which may be shown in the docuseries.
"The decision wasn't made overnight, but has been done thoughtfully over the past year. After having his Adam's apple removed, and beginning to take hormones, Bruce knew what he wanted to do," the source said, sharing that the star has already been receiving counseling to psychologically prepare him for the surgery.
Despite the numerous hints and sources stepping up, Jenner and his representatives are neither confirming nor denying the news. The same goes for the Kardashian and Jenner families, ABC Network, as well as everyone else involved, who are all remaining hush-hush about the matter according to USA Today.
Christel Wheeler, a spokeswoman for E! and NBCUniversal, released an emailed statement, simply saying, "We are not commenting."
The news however, also coincides with Jenner's stepdaughter Kim Kardashian hinting at Jenner and his "journey" during a recent interview, and saying that her stepfather was the happiest she's ever seen him.
"I do think that story and what Bruce is going through, I think he'll share whenever the time is right," she said. "He'll talk about whatever he wants to talk about. I just feel like that's really his journey to talk about."
Some claimed that they were keeping quiet for now due to the docuseries filming as well as Jenner's decision to go to ABC News. It reportedly caused conflict within NBC's News division, especially as NBCUniversal owns E!, which is where Jenner's docuseries was expected to air.
A source from BuzzFeed claimed it caused "internal consternation" within NBC, whose war with ABC continued to escalate. The matter is still trying to be resolved.
