GoDaddy's new ad for the 2015 Super Bowl is getting a lot of flak from viewers.

In the video presented by TMZ, the starting scene featured puppies sitting at the back of a truck. One puppy was accidentally dropped off as the vehicle moved through bumpy terrain. The lost puppy traveled through various scenarios to find his way home. In the end, he managed to return to his owners in a barn, which gave the impression that they were puppy millers, because as soon as the puppy enters the barn, she picks him up and exclaimed, "Look it's Buddy! I'm so glad you made it home, because I just sold you on this website I built with GoDaddy."

The next scene showed the puppy being picked up by a van to be delivered to the buyer. The woman bid him goodbye saying, "Ship 'em out!"

The game day ad titled, "Lost Dog", lasts less than 30 seconds.

JustJared wrote that animal lovers were furious with the ad. The Today show had an entire segment criticizing the commercial, emphasizing how viewers wrote in to share their outrage about the lack of empathy of the company message in glorifying internet puppy mills.

The ad might also have reference to another canine-focused advertisement, presented by Budweiser for the Super Bowl. The 2014 ad was called "Puppy Love", featuring the brand's famous Clydesdales mingling with a puppy.

AdWeek reported that GoDaddy was quick to realize its mistake and has already pulled out the advertisement. Blake Irving, CEO of GoDaddy, acknowledged the growing rage against their commercial and resorted to Twitter to announce that they are doing some damage control.

Irving tweeted, "Thank you @animalrescuers for the candid feedback. What should have been a fun and funny ad clearly missed the mark and we will not air it."

Irving added later, "We are pulling the ad from the Super Bowl. You'll still see us in the Big Game this year, and we hope it makes you laugh."

GoDaddy is paying $4 million for the ad slot on game day and will still be using the slot for another commercial. Super Bowl XLIX kicks off on February 1.

It is not actually the first time that GoDaddy featured a controversial Super Bowl ad. In the past year, the company presented supermodel Bar Refaeli making out with a nerdy guy, which garnered mixed reactions from the audience.
