Production of MTV's supernatural show "Teen Wolf" is set to come back soon but fans might have to prepare themselves to say goodbye to one of the major cast members, Christian Today reported.
"Teen Wolf" was first released in 2011 and was loosely based on the film of the same name starring Michael J. Fox which came out in 1985. It has had four seasons to its name thanks to the support and love of its loyal fans, with a fifth season on the way premiering sometime in the summer. However, fans might end up seeing the cast with one actor or actress less.
The news was revealed by actress Holland Roden, who plays banshee Lydia Martin in the show. She revealed the shocking news during an interview with Hollywood Life in September during New York Fashion Week.
"That's just the reality," she said. "It's sort of a toss up of who is not coming back for season five, but somebody is not coming for season five."
Roden kept mum on who the person is and simply said, "You're going to have to tune in for season five to see if we're all coming back or not."
She did tease a little, saying, "Derek walked off into the sunset, and he could easily wake up the next morning and go get Starbucks. Or Lydia could have magically joined Jackson in London. We don't know."
Whoever leaves will be following the exit of previous main cast members Crystal Reed, who plays Allison Argent and left at the end of season three, and Colton Haynes, who plays Jackson Whittemore and left at the end of season two.
Some actors have already been confirmed to come back, such as Roden, Tyler Posey as reluctant werewolf Scott McCall, Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, Dylan O'Brien as Stiles Stilinski, Ryan Kelley as Deputy Jordan Parrish, Arden Cho as Kira Yukimura and more, according to Master Herald.
That's not a sign though as some of them might end up leaving in the middle of the season.
Possible actors that might exit the show could be Hoechlin, given Roden's mention; J.R. Bourne, who plays Chris Argent; or Ian Bohen, who plays Peter Hale. There is a possibility even Roden herself might also be leaving.
With MTV keeping mum though, fans can only wait patiently, or not so patiently, to find out more news.
Filming is said to start next month and writer Eric Wallace mentioned during a Gecken podcast that season five will probably be "the scariest season ever," according to Hypable.
"Teen Wolf" season five will return sometime in June. The title of its first episode has been revealed as "Creatures of the Night."
